Florist, teacher, mother, friend
Robyn Duncan got her start in the floral industry as a 15 year old, cleaning pollen off of Asiatic lilies and sweeping guard petals into big green tubs garbages at Buffalo’s oldest wholesale and retail flower market.
She quickly scaffolded her experience both in terms of business affairs and design, learning the in’s and out’s of each department in the shop, particularly in wedding and daily arrangement designs.
After 5 years at the flower market and obtaining her bachelors degree in English, she transitioned to working as the sole employee at an owner-operated boutique florist with a heavy focus on contemporary and environmentally conscious design.
Since moving to Connecticut in 2020, Robyn has worked as wedding freelance florist and for a historic florist and nursery in Greenwich, CT, while obtaining her MFA in Integrated Media Arts at Hunter College and working full-time at Fusion Academy in Fairfield as an Art teacher and Department Head. Throughout this time, she developed a keen understanding of the local industry’s standards, able to confidently predict the county’s taste trajectory.
She lives in Bethel, CT with her husband and 11 month old son.
